Divi Tutorials + Layout Kits | WordPress Tips | Business Growth

Home of the Original Divi Tutorials & Divi Layout Kits.

Over the years I have accumulated a few principles that I have learned to live by. I apply these principles in my personal life, business, and in this Divi Blog and I want to share a little more about them here with you today.

Teach Learn Build Love

Teach Learn Build Love

I have combined these 4 powerful words into a single personal principle that is rooted in my faith. So let me break it down for you.

Teach and Learn

As a Christian, I am called to teach others about Jesus and to continue learning from Him on a daily basis.

The more I teach others what I have learned, the more I find such great joy and contentment. It can be about life, faith, work and even designing websites.

That’s why I love writing up these tutorials and helping others find solutions. I love hearing the success stories and about how these tutorials have helped people grow in their skill set and in their business.

Build

One of my favorite books of the Bible is Nehemiah. Nehemiah was called to leave a prominent position serving the most powerful ruler in the world at that time in order to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. In that story, I learned a lot about sacrifice, leadership and what it takes to build, whether it’s a major project or a community.

Most importantly I learned that I am a builder. We all are to some extent. We need to be building something and when we build something together, we create an atmosphere of community which is also important.

So what are you building? Whether it’s a website, business, family or relationships, always be building and watch the wonderful ripple effects it has on others, your business and on your personal contentment.

Love

And then, of course, there is love. As I have learned to love in the way God loves us, it has changed so many things about the way I do business. Before it was always a race to the top but once I started to see people the way God sees people, it’s no longer the case.

In this race called life, there are more important things than getting there fast and first. Now it’s about seeing others finish the race well and that they are encouraged in the process.

An who knows, you may end up doing what you love and loving what you get to do.

Go Big

The next principle is about “going all out”. I have learned over the years that you need to be “all-in” or “all-out” with whatever you are doing. With everything I do, I have to give it everything I have. When I don’t then the outcome is simply not satisfying as I know it would have been better had I given it everything.

The same goes for business and relationships. Sure it can be challenging giving your work “your all” and yet still find the energy or time to give “your all” to your family and relationships.

It takes time to learn what to give a little more attention to, and I am far from mastering the art of work-life balance. That’s why I started a blog to cover that very notion of a work life balance. Now I have bloggers from all walks of the earth sharing their experience and practical tips on everything from Business Strategies, Health Hacks and Saving Money. It is just another way for me to learn and help others do the same.

Do you have a dream that you have been holding on to? Do not be afraid to invest in making that dream a reality. Life is too short to not give it your best. Go Big!

Build Community

build community

There is a famous saying that says “It takes a village to raise a child”. The notion of community is really the essence of living. We were not made to be alone. If you have ever read the Bible then you know that even at the beginning of creation there was a community. Whether you believe in creation or not, you cannot deny that inner longing for relationship.

And so it is very important to be a part of a community whether it’s your neighborhood, church, family or even in the workplace. I work from home and so there is a real danger of being lonely and having a life of solitude. But by fostering community with my colleagues around the world through Facebook groups, blogs, social media, phone calls, Google Hangouts and actual in-person meetups, that danger is distant and out of sight.

So What’s Up With The Hats?

I had been thinking about ordering some hats for my clients and friends but having just a company logo is so boring. And then a friend of mine, Mike Flynn of The Impact Entrepreneur Show shared a hat he had made to support his business but it was not a logo, it was a phrase that captured the essence of his mission.

I then reached out to the guy who did his hats for him and was stoked when he offered to help me out. I sent him these phrases and told him I could not decide which one to use so he went ahead and designed all 3 for me. I still could not decide which one so he then offered to have all 3 made for me.

That’s what is up with the hats. I just wanted to make them available to anyone who shares in these principles and wants to share the message with others. If you want to buy one, just hit me up and I will see what I can do.

Cheers,
